THE TWINS
"Resolved: That the … Lords of the Treasury …
should revert to the Plan of Sierra Leona
as the fittest accommodation of Blacks."

In this sequence of poems, black female voices from C16th and C17th Britain speak across time to enter our lives and become part of our complex history. With them, we inhabit a poetic liminal zone in which we feel their despair, witness their linguistic transformations, celebrate their agency and respond to their lives as their chains become bonds that link us over time and cultural space.
